Meet the Staff

Brian Workman
Brian WorkmanCo-Founder & Vice President
Brian Workman’s first job as director of customer service for a national third-party drug and alcohol testing administrator taught him a lesson he has carried throughout his career: real solutions don’t happen by accident. Authentic customer service requires hard work, dedication and a team effort. He developed this idea further as general manager of a national mail order company offering durable medical equipment. There, he helped build a team of four into a team of nearly 100 spanning five states, encompassing customer service, call center services, document retrieval, compliance, marketing and lead generation.

Today, as Co-Founder and Vice President of Sunlight Support Senior Care Solutions, Brian coordinates many moving parts, including a skilled local team dedicated to heartfelt, viable aging-in-place solutions. Sunlight Support’s continuum of care is comprised of professional at-home healthcare services, as well as many other tools, equipment, programs and services that can be activated to help clients stay in their own homes, where they can be safe and independent.

“My goal is to honor God in the decisions I make every day as a custodian of this great company,” Brian said. “It brings me a lot of joy to help our clients stay at home and provide real solutions to give their families peace of mind.”

Miram MacKay
Miram MacKayOperations Manager
Miriam MacKay is Sunlight Support’s Operations Manager. Along with a graduate degree in communications and a minor in human resource management from Regis University in Denver, Colorado, Miriam offers years of experience working with nonprofit organizations. Her job at Sunlight Support is to connect with clients, families, industry partners, medical personnel, and other stakeholders, expanding the organization’s network and finding ways to add value to the community.

In caring for her aging parents, Miriam has gained personal knowledge of the need for seniors to find the right care and services. She knows how important it is to make good choices, both medical and non-medical, for the ones you love.

“I joined Sunlight as a way to make a difference in the lives of seniors and my community,” Miriam said. “I wanted the opportunity, through a compassionate, privately-owned company, to help make those very important decisions easier.”

Jody Webb
Jody WebbFamily Care Coordinator
At Sunlight Support, Jody Webb is the main contact for all operational issues. In addition to serving clients and families as a Family Care Coordinator and backup caregiver, she makes sure the company’s mission is supported by all services and day-to-day activities. Jody is the organization’s master of workflow, problem-solving, IT integrations and compliance. She also works with the company’s executive and management team to research new products, services and training programs.

A native of Douglas, Nebraska, Jody moved to Lincoln to attend Southeast Community College. She comes by her compassion and caring for senior clients naturally — in her personal life, she provides care for her mother, who has been diagnosed with dementia.

“Ever since I was little, I loved spending time with the elders,” Jody said. “I have a great deal of compassion for our seniors, and I love being able to assist them.”

Kara Roberts
Kara RobertsFinancial Services Coordinator
In David City, Nebraska, Kara Roberts’ grandparents still are able to live in the home where they raised their seven children — with help from family members. Kara believes being able to remain in comfortable and familiar surroundings has made a huge impact on her grandparents’ longevity and quality of life.

As Sunlight Support’s Financial Services Coordinator, Kara sees this impact every day with clients who do not have the same benefit of family care. “This is such an important and growing industry,” she said. “I’m so glad to be able to go to work every day with a company that wholeheartedly believes in providing a better quality of life for seniors in their own homes.”

To her work at Sunlight Support, Kara brings an education from the University of Nebraska Lincoln and Kaplan University. She worked in banking for seven years, and then served in the durable medical industry as a medical biller, where she also gained knowledge of insurance. Kara is a member of the American Heart Association and the Alzheimer’s Association.
